How to create your profile on the DNA Doula Directory

WELCOME TO THE DOULA DIRECTORY AUSTRALIA

Your profile is your chance to introduce yourself to families across Australia who are looking for the right doula for their journey.
Follow the steps below to get set up. It should only take around 10–15 minutes.
đź’ˇ Tip: If you saved your old profile information from the previous directory, have it nearby. It will make the process much quicker.

STEP 1 — GO TO THE DIRECTORY
Open your web browser and go to:
https://www.douladirectory.com.au
STEP 2 — CLICK “ADD YOUR LISTING”
Look for the button that says:

Add New Listing
or -
Sign Up
This is usually located in the top menu or homepage.
Click the button to begin.
STEP 3 — CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT / LOG IN
If this is your first time using the new directory platform, you’ll need to create a new account.

Enter your email address - please use your business email

Create a password
-
Check your email for the verification link

Click the verification link
-
Return to the directory and log in
STEP 4 — PERSONAL & INFO
You’ll now begin completing your listing information.
Please complete:

Your full name or business name
-
Your email address
-
Phone number (optional)

Listing name
-
Short description

Your short description is a quick summary that appears in search results and previews. Keep it clear, warm, and easy to understand.
Example:
“Birth and postpartum doula supporting families with evidence-based, trauma-informed care.”
STEP 5 — BUSINESS
Add your:

Location/suburb/state

STEP 6 — MEDIA
Upload your images and profile media.
Preferred Option (Recommended)
Use image URLs from your website.
This helps:

HOW TO GET YOUR IMAGE URL

Go to your website

Find the image you’d like to use

Right-click the image
-
Select:

“Copy image address”

OR “Open image in new tab”

Copy the image URL

Paste it into the image field in your directory profile

UPLOAD OPTION
If you do not have a website, you can upload images directly to the directory.

PLEASE AVOID:

Blurry or low-quality photos

Overly filtered images

STEP 7 — CATEGORIES & TAGS
Select the categories, services, and tags that best match your support and experience.
This may include:

Other relevant services or modalities
TAGS — PLEASE READ BEFORE ADDING
Tags help families search for doulas based on specific support areas, training, certifications, or modalities.
To help keep the directory organised and easy for families to search, a range of approved tags have already been added into the directory. Please check the existing tags first before creating a new one.
Please only select or add tags that are:

Relevant to your professional support, training, or experience

Commonly understood by families

Specific and searchable

You do not need to create a new tag if an existing one already fits your service or training.

If you're unsure whether a tag is appropriate, please contact the DNA committee before adding it.
To help maintain a clear and searchable directory, tags may be edited, merged, or removed by directory administrators where required.
STEP 8 — LINKS & DESCRIPTION
This is one of the most important parts of your profile.
Your bio/about section is your chance to connect with families before they even contact you.
Things you may like to include:

STEP 9 — SOCIAL & SEO
This section allows you to connect your social media accounts and improve how your profile appears online.
You may be able to add:

STEP 10 — ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Depending on your services, you may see additional custom fields to complete.
This can include:

Please complete as much information as possible to help families better understand your support.
STEP 11 — REVIEW & SUBMIT YOUR PROFILE
Before submitting:

Check your bio for typos
-
Confirm contact details are correct
-
Check your images are displaying properly
-
Make sure website/social links work
-
Double-check your selected categories and tags
Once ready:

Click Submit or Publish
Your listing will go through a short 2-3 business day approval process before appearing live on the website

Why should I use image URLs from my website?
Using image URLs helps:
- Drive traffic back to your website
- Improve your SEO
- Keep image quality consistent
What if I don’t have a website?
No problem. You can upload up to 3 images directly.
Why is my image cropped strangely?
Very tall portrait images may be automatically cropped.
Landscape images around 1080 x 608 px work best for listings and 100 x100 px works best for logos.
Why isn’t my image uploading?
Possible reasons:
- File is too large
- Unsupported format
- Slow internet connection
Please keep images under 3MB.
How many images can I upload?
Maximum:
- 3 images per listing
Can I edit my listing later?
Yes. You can log in and update your listing anytime.
Please beware that any edits to your profile will also undergo admin approval. This is to avoid any spam, false advertising and inappropriate content on the directory.Â
How long does approval take?
Listings are manually reviewed before going live.
Please allow 2 - 3 business days for your listing to be approved.
What should I include in my bio?
Families connect best with bios that feel warm, clear, and personal.
Talk about:
- Who you support
- Your style of care
- Your values
- Your experience
- Your offers
Why is the map pin not exact?
Google Maps uses suburb and address information to generate map locations.
Sometimes the pin may appear slightly different depending on the address format entered.
